Mr. Wayne Elliott of South Carthage died at the age of 80 at 8:02 p.m. Friday evening December 11, 2020 at the Tri-Star Summit Medical Center in Hermitage where he was admitted December 7th after suffering a stroke.

Funeral services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon December 15th with Bro. Mike Tyree and Bro. Dennis Marrotte officiating. Following the 1 p.m. services burial was in the Garden of the Cross at Smith County Memorial Gardens.

One of three sons of the late Elmer Bush Elliott who died on September 17, 2002 at the age of 88 and Eleanor Grace Browning Elliott who died December 4, 2004 at the age of 84, he was born Wayne Douglas Elliott in Pineville in Bell County, Kentucky on October 20, 1940.

Mr. Elliott was a 1958 graduate of Pineville High School in Pineville, Kentucky.

He was a longtime employee of William Powell Valve Corporation in Cincinnati from which he retired and after moving to Smith County was employed at the former Welch Company in Gordonsville and later with General Spring and Wire also in Gordonsville.

Mr. Elliott was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his daughter, Dianna Lynn Elliott Harper and husband Bobby Neal Harper of South Carthage; son, Doug Elliott and wife Robin Ann Wilmore Elliott of the Defeated Creek Community; six grandchildren, Stephanie Washer and husband Joey of South Carthage, Nick Harper and wife Holly Dickens Harper of the Riddleton Community, Chelsea Gibbs and husband Jacob of Lebanon, McKenzie Green and husband Preston of Holly Ridge, North Carolina, Ethan Elliott and Adyn Elliott both of the Defeated Creek Community; nine great-grandchildren, Braxton, Tristin, Jadlyn, Maddy, Trinity, Harper, Saylor, Ruth and Naomi; two brothers, Roger Elliott and wife Maxine of Monroe, Michigan and Jerry Elliott and wife Phyllis of London, Kentucky.
