Michael is survived by his wife of 40 years, Melinda; two sons, Matthew (Mallory) Murry of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mark (Dorothy) Murry of Bloomington, Indiana; and granddaughter Annabelle Rose, his precious and favorite playmate, of Bloomington, Indiana.
Michael was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, served on a number of emergency response teams, including flooding responses in Parkville and Booneville, Missouri, and Medora, Indiana, as well as tornado recovery efforts in Siren, Wisconsin. He also served on mission teams to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He was an active member of the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club and was a past member of Central Christian Church in Seymour, Indiana, and Covenant Community Fellowship in New Albany, Indiana.
Out of love and concern for friends and co-workers, there will not be visitation or funeral arrangements at this time. However, a Celebration of Life gathering is planned for May 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Mike’s home in Salem, Indiana.
Because Mike grew up in the foster care system, The Refuge for Children in Austin, Indiana, was a project near and dear to his heart. In lieu of flowers, please remember Michael with a donation to The Refuge for Children, 50 S. First Street, Austin, IN 47102.
