Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Mary Alice Forbes, 88, of Columbia, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at The Myrtles Nursing Center. Interment will be in the Foxworth Cemetery. Bro. Willie Martin and Bro. Jon Kittrell will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Ms. Forbes was born March 8, 1927 in Marion County and was a lifelong resident. She was also a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Hugh & Sadie May; her Husband, Gilbert Wayne Forbes; one Brother, Jack May; three Sisters, Sue Watts, Minnie Cambell, Hazel Williamson; and one Great Grand Son, Michael Felix Lyons.
Ms. Forbes is survived by two Daughters, Beth Keen (Curtis), Foxworth, Sylvia Forbes (Steve), Hattiesburg; three Grandchildren, Audra Sandifer, Brandon, Heather Lyons (Keith), Hattiesburg, Cody Martin (Sara), Hattiesburg; six Great Grandchildren, Brady Sandifer and Beau Sandifer of Brandon, Mari Alis Lyons, Maxton Lyons, Lillie Lyons, and Alyssa Martin all of Hattiesburg.
