Mr. Berry served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He was a “jack of all trades”, lending his hand and experience wherever and whenever he could. A man of few words, but one who listened often and always spoke with conviction and love. Mr. Berry was the true example of “Love thy neighbor as self as thyself” extending his home, time, and love to so many. Above all, Mr. Berry will always be cherished and remembered as a man of the Lord, devoted to the Lord’s work and to his family.
Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents Marshall Clyde Berry and Eva Austin Berry and also by his siblings Huey Berry, Jennie Mae Whitehead, and Lamar Berry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Mary Lemoine Berry, daughter Kaye Frances Willis (Larry), and Thomas Ray Berry, brother Jimmy Dale Berry (Margaret), and grandchildren Lacey Elizabeth Willis and Laura Elizabeth Willis. He is also survived by extended family Myranda' Lowe and Weslynn Kait Lowe, Ethan Toothman and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Tilton and Mac Brunson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories with military honors.
Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Ray Berry, Dennis Pardue, Ethan Toothman, Frank Fonzi, Jim Bob Jones, and Gary Robertson.
