Funeral services for Brenda C. Blair, 54, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 2:00pm, Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Samuel Bobby officiating. Burial at Groton Union Cemetery at a later date. Brenda died Friday, December 11, at her home in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be 3:00-7:00pm, Thursday, followed by a prayer service at 7:00pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.

Brenda Carol Blair, 54, died Friday, December 11th her home in Aberdeen, SD after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Brenda was born on May 3, 1966, to Harold and Gwendolyn Wells of rural Houghton, SD. She attended Barnard Elementary School and Hecla High School graduating with the class of 1984. After high school, Brenda attended Northern State College and began work at Bethesda Nursing Home in Aberdeen, SD. On November 25, 1995, Brenda married the love of her life, Don Blair of Andover, SD.

Brenda is survived by her husband J.Donald Blair of 25 years. She had 3 daughters: Santanna (Charles) Mosbrucker, Tabitha Blair and Emily Blair. She had 4.5 grandchildren: Gavin, Avalynn, Leo, Cameron and baby Adeline who is due in January of 2021. She is also survived by 4 sisters: Lila Morris, Lola (Gary) Hopcraft, Amy (Blake) Smith and Melody (Brad) Bonzer. And 1 Brother, Bryan (Ruth) Wells. Brenda was blessed to be a part of a large family, including several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, lots of cousins, 1 dog – Sadie and 1 cat – Merlin. There were many close friends that were dear to her heart including Leah Leidholdt-Bauer, Debbie Curtis, Michelle Marlette, and Julie Moffenbier -who were close to Brenda especially at the time of her death.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Brenda spent her entire life helping others by working at Bethesda Nursing Home, Wyndham Hotel Group and Aspire. Caring for people was Brenda’s strongest gift. She was loving and giving and no one ever left her home without something homemade, typically from her garden.

Brenda was an avid gardener and loved to spend her time working on various projects with her husband. Her infectious personality was a light to everyone she touched and days spent with Brenda were filled with love and laughter.

Brenda and her family and friends want to thank Sanford Cancer Treatment staff, Avera Hospice and Dr. B. and her staff for the wonderful level of care she received during this time of her life.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Gwen Wells; her father-in-law, Jack Blair; her brother-in-law Roger Morris; her aunt Lois Wells; her uncles Glenn Wells, Clyde Wells, Keith Wilkins and Joe McDonald; grand-nephew Brady Bonzer, and cousins Kim Rausch, Craig Wilkins and Paul Wilkins.
