Gary James Gardner Sr, 74, of Punta Gorda Florida, peacefully passed away at his daughter's home in Elmira, Michigan on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on May 9, 1946 in Petoskey, Michigan. Gary was the son of Emilius and Ruth(Berry) Gardner. He lost his father at a very young age and was raised by his mother and father, Sam Morris with his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda; his children, Mike Boughner (Megan), Lori Christie (Wes), Amy Deloria, Terry Fettig (Randy), Gary Gardner Jr (Mechelle), Missy Goalen (Brian), John LaDere (Kim), Glenda Midyett (Gene), Kim Morgan (Jon), Rusty Rockwell (Paula) and Mindy Simon (Larry). His surviving siblings are Bob Morris (Dawn), Charlene Morris and Sharon Ward. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren number several dozen.
He is preceded in death by his fathers, Emilius Gardner and Sam Morris; his mother, Ruth Morris; brothers Tom, Dan and Mike Gardner; sisters Pat Baumann and Barb Wenz.
Gary was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a Jack of all trades who was always ready to help friends, family and neighbors with any project. Gary's legacy of love and creativity will continue to grow through his family for generations to come.
