Dorothy Ellen Forbey Hess, 90, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born June 4, 1930, in Charleston, MO, to the late Frank Moses Forbey and Mary Anna Evan Forbey, she lived in Charleston most of her life. She worked as a telephone operator for several years in Charleston then moved to St. Louis while her husband, the late Jimmy Kenneth Hess, completed Pharmacy school. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston, MO.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Kevin Bryan (Karen) Hess of Charleston, MO and Jami Dorann (Jamie) Sanders of Collierville, TN; her grandchildren, Nikolos Steven (Jessica) Hess, Madeline Shelby (Winston) Wolters, and Leighton Grace Sanders, as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Anna Evans Forbey, her brother, Frank Moses Forbey, Jr., and her sister, Anna Louise Forbey Morris.
Private family services will be held at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with interment to follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
