David J. Eddington, 100, of Springfield, passed away at 7:40 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2001 at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman. He was born June 30, 1900 the son of Samuel and Mary Cook Eddington in Springfield. He married Catherine Willson on October 10, 1922 in Springfield and she preceded him in death in 1971.

He was a graduate of Springfield High School. Mr. Eddington worked for Weaver Manufacturing Company for many years and retired in 1968. He was also a market gardener in Springfield until 1995. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Robert Eddington; a daughter: Rita Shaughnessy, a daughter-in-law: Virginia Ralph Eddington, three grandsons, a great grandson, two sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by four daughters; four sons; fifty-four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Concelebrated Funeral Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
