Carolyn Fagundes Newton
Was born to Clarence and Lena Fagundes on Dec 5, 1952. She was born on the family dairy where she grew up and made many childhood memories with her big brother, Myron. They had many memories of catching the school bus together and playing with cousins and neighbor kids.
Carolyn graduated from Hanford High School and continued through College of the Sequoias to become a dental assistant. Soon after, she was introduced to a stellar man, through a cousin at the river, who would become her soulmate, Richard Newton, and a beautiful soulmate he was…..
They began their life together on August 14, 1976 and their partnership flourished doing everything they enjoyed. Their cabin at Huntington Lake, arrowhead hunting, flying and, most importantly, spending precious time with their parents, Clarence and Lena, brother Myron and his wife Ellen, niece Kimberly Fagundes Dunn and her partner Jaime Silvera, her children Kaden and Darienne, nephew Jason Fagundes and his wife Stacey, their children Caitlyn, Alyssa and Logan. She lived for making family values and memories a priority. She had a passion for life and Our Lord that will forever be looked up to by anyone that knew her. Her kind soul, her sweet, kind spirit, and her soft touch on life will always be cherished and missed.
Carolyn passed to be with our Lord Jesus and her mother Lena on May 29, 2015 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. “Aunt Carol” is survived by her husband, Richard, father Clarence Fagundes, brother Myron Fagundes, and wife Ellen, mother-in-law Margaret Newton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Lemoore Cemetery. There will be a reception following at Fraternal Hall in Hanford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital and Valley Children’s Hospital.
