Donald W. “Don” Stafford Sr., 76, of Ashley, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehab Center in Angola.

He was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Garrett to Robert Stafford Sr. and Blanche (Hathaway) Stafford.

He was a veteran of the United States Marines.

Don married Carroll Armstrong on Feb. 19, 1960, in Auburn, and she survives in Ashley.

He spent most of his life working as a truck driver, retiring in 2001.

Don was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 261 of Auburn.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, karaoke, Indiana University basketball, Chicago Cubs baseball, Chicago Bears football, but his true passion was is grandchildren.

Also surviving are two daughters, Terrie (Mike) Hasselman of Ashley, and Tonya (Jeff) Turner of Ashley; a son, Donald Stafford Jr. of Auburn; five grandchildren, Jaymee (Eric) Watson, Justin Deetz, Natalya (Randy Harris) Clark, Keaton Turner, and Donoven Stafford; four great grandchildren, Rialynn Hakey, Kamden Deetz, Karli Deetz, and Haleigh Collett; a brother, Robert (Carol) Stafford Jr. of New Haven; and two sisters, Marilynn Goble of Garrett and Roxann Shireman of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sons, Daniel Stafford and David Stafford; and a brother, Glenn Stafford.

A memorials service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo.
