Graveside services for Ms. Helen A. Scott, 84, of Cushing, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Mt. Hope Cemetery with James Neil Scott officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

A register book will be available for friends and family to stop by and pay their respects on Friday, December 11, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Scott passed from this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at UT Health Tyler.

She was born September 15, 1936, in Spokane, Washington to the late Howard and Ella (Kelm) Prince.

She was raised in Spokane but spent most all of her life in Rusk County.

Helen was proud to have been, and enjoyed being, a waitress. She worked for several restaurants, namely Howard Johnson in Houston and The Captain's Table in Henderson.

She enjoyed crochet and making lovely crochet dolls.

Helen was also a talented water skier, enjoyed camping, and

"Granny" loved playing board games with her grandchildren.

Ms. Scott was of the Baptist faith and had a giving spirit. She quietly and unassumingly would provide Christmas presents for children and furniture for those in need among many other selfless acts of kindness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Scott; sisters, Ellen Kapper and Donna Jayne; brother, Donald Prince; daughter, Judy Mabus; son, Reese Scott; granddaughter, Joni Duke, and grandson baby Duke.

Survivors include her daughter, Sonia Duke and husband Dannie; son, James Neil Scott and wife Cindy; granddaughter, Sandy Mabus and husband James Allen; grandsons, Cody Mabus and wife Jennifer, Charles Duke and wife Cindy, John Scott and wife Marie, Gregg Scott, and Bryce Scott; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and special friend, Mary Hollaway.

The family would like to acknowledge and say a special word of thanks to Judith Allen for the special care that she provided to Granny in her later years.
