Ruby Mae Reed 73, of South Bend, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Ruby was born April 19, 1947, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Ellis and Sula Mae (Ivory) Perry.

She grew up in Mishawaka and South Bend. In 1963 she married Johnny C. Reed and to that union, they were blessed with 4 children: one son, Jeffery Reed; and 3 daughters: Teresa Taylor, Selena (Kenneth) Miller, and Tonya (Ronald) Buntyn, all of South Bend, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by six brothers: Eddie, Lamont, Larry and Ronnie (Michele) Perry all of South Bend, Indiana, Jerry Perry of Indianapolis, Indiana and Barry (Clara) Perry of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters: Diane and Lisa Perry both of South Bend, Indiana; a special friend, Bertha Wilder; along with a host of nephews and nieces.

Ruby was a child of the Most High God and was a faithful member of New Life Fellowship Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Charles and Prophetess Betty Harris. Ruby retired from Memorial Hospital in 2006 after 31 years of dedicated service. After her retirement, she worked for Home Instead and Help at Home, going the extra mile for those in need.

Ruby was also preceded in death by one sister in which she shared a birthday, Jenise (Greg) DeBerry; and one son-in-law, Darryl Taylor.

Ruby will be remembered for her blankets, cakes, and gifts along with sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she met. She spread love wherever she went and will be truly missed but we know that she is in the arms of the Lord.
