Graveside services for Leroy Spencer, 81, of Apple Springs, will be in the Nigton Cemetery.

Leroy Spencer was the third son of Willie Sr. and Margaret Daniel Spencer.

He was a graduate of Prairie View A&M and his Master's Degree was from Stephen F. Austin University. Leroy was an Educator and Coach in Diboll (Lumberjacks). He was a Principal in Lufkin, Texas at West Middle School and Principal at Apple Springs Schools. Leroy was loved and honored by so many students, that he left an imprint upon their lives. He loved the country and enjoyed his summer gardens. Leroy was a pillar of the Nigton Community. He inspired many East Texans and dedicated his life to service and education of students. He was beloved by his family and friends.

Leroy leaves behind: His wife, Morteal; children, Kenneth (Johnita), Wanda (Bonnie) and Jacqueline; grandchildren, Nicholas (Lucy), Princess (Shay) Highgate, and Jacques Dewberry, Kendrick and Kristen; Four Great-grandchildren, Brandon Wise, Jazzlyn Dewberry, Khloe Gordon, and Maddie Spencer; siblings, Freddie (Vernell)
Barney (Elizabeth), Archie Faye, Loraine, and Lela; sisters-in-law, Lillian Spencer, Stella Spencer, and Evelyn Spencer; A special niece, (Sharon); A host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
