Mrs. Peggy Lou Bell Wood, age 76 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 7, 2020 at Rachel Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Wiles officiating. Mrs. Wood will lie-in-state from 12:00 until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born July 16, 1944 in Wilkes County to John Conrad and Opal Mae Caudill Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John Conrad and Opal Mae Caudill Bell Alexander and step-father; Eli Clyde Alexander.
She is survived by her husband; Marvin Wood of the home, a son, Marty Glenn Wood and fiancé Reba Church of North Wilkesboro, a daughter; Joyce Robin Wood Griffin and husband Charles of North Wilkesboro, six grandchildren; Dawn Rodriguez, Charlie Monroe Griffin, Joy Marie Griffin, Brandi Davlos, Christian Faith Wood Johnson and Marty Ryan Wood eighteen great grandchildren, four sisters; Patsy Mae Davis and husband Doug of North Wilkesboro, Betty Billings and husband Fred of Elkin, Norma Barlow of North Wilkesboro, and Wanda Foster of Elkin.
Pallbearers will be; Jimmy Pipes, James Wingler, Ryan Wood, Jeremy Bullard, Ricky Lawrence and Jeffrey Wood.
