Port Barre - A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Howard Leger will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the Mass. Rite of committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Charles, age 76, a resident of Port Barre, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 10, 2020. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 Years, Sandra Stoute Leger of Port Barre, sons, Charles “Tee” Leger and wife, Melissa of Port Barre, Kenneth Leger and wife, Rachel of Port Barre, Brian Leger and companion, Jackie of Port Barre, and Randy Guillot and wife, Kristin of Melville, daughter, Karen Hoffpauir and husband Chad of Port Barre, grandchildren, Brandon Leger wife, Josie, Mauri Leger, Lexi Meche husband, C.J., Madelyn Vidrine husband, Owen, Ali Leger, Luke Leger, Mason Leger, Chloe Hoffpauir, Kelsi Hoffpauir, Kyler Leger, Shelby Guillot, Abigail Guillot, Noah Guillot, Bella Guillot, and Kohl Higginbotham, and three great grandchildren, Camille Meche, Lane Leger, and Wyatt Vidrine, and three more on the way. Brother, Bernard Leger and wife, Theresa of Opelousas, sister, Marie Dupre and husband Ben of Opelousas and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fabien and Marie Leger, brothers, James Carey Leger, Avie Leger, Lee Harvey Leger, Joseph Leger, Junior Leger, and Harry Leger, sisters, Ann Milligan, Ora Mae Soileau, Ruth Bourgeois, Juanita Cashio, Helen Cumbo, and Doris Smith.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. till 9:00 pm. and will resume on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital who provided loving care for Charles.
