Larry Gene Fuller, age 72, of Lebanon, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, and Venice, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center in Lebanon, IL. Larry was born on May 16, 1948 in Jonesboro, AR, a son of the late John Howard Fuller and Muriel Maxine (Hurst) Fuller. Larry was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his tour of duty, Larry was a recipient of the Purple Heart, and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars and the National Defense Service Medal. He was an Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Larry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, James Fuller; and by a brother-in-law, Joseph Brand. He is survived by his loving sisters, Jo Ann Brand of Belleville, IL and Judith (Randall) Lambert of Edwardsville, IL; nieces, Lisa (Steve) Griffin of Hahira, GA, Barbara (Jeff) Carter of Hidalgo, IL, Lori Thrutchley of Belleville, IL, Stephanie Satterfield of Dunedin, FL and Lea (William) Northam of Mattoon, IL; nephews, Darren (Kathy) Beyer of Swansea, IL and Brent Lambert of Santa Fe, NM; ten great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; extended family and friends. In celebration of his life, a private family visitation and funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon, IL, with Pastor Darren Beyer officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL, with military honors conducted by the United States Army.
