Carolyn Strange Scott, age 63, of Richmond, Indiana, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 6, 2020, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Born June 2, 1957, in Winchester, Kentucky, to Robert Wayne and Susan Smalley Strange, Carol graduated from Clark County High School in Winchester, Kentucky, and attended Ivy Tech Community College to be a nursing aide. She was the friendly face behind the counter of the Speedway on Chester Boulevard for over 20 years. Carol was an animal lover. She enjoyed watching TV and working crossword puzzles. Carol loved her family and would do anything for them.

Survivors include her mother, Susan Powell of Richmond; sister, Michelle Powell of Clay City, Kentucky; brothers, Roger Strange of Richmond, Gerald (Mona) Powell of Washington, and Walter Powell of Richmond; nieces, Lylith and Madison Powell; nephew, Channing Powell; great-niece and great-nephews, Kaylianna, Cameron, Kobe, Emrys, and Lebron Powell; father-in-law, Shirley Scott of Kentucky; many cousins and friends including a special family friend, Carol Kuss; and her two cats, Charlie and Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Barbara "Bobbie" Strange; brother, Jimmy Gentry; great-nephew, Carmello Powell; mother-in-law, Geneva Scott; and her dog of many years, "Little Man".

A memorial service for Carolyn Strange Scott will be held in the future , with Pastor Ted Chalk officiating.
