On Monday, December 7, 2020, Jimmy Earl Day passed away. Jim was born in Sulphur, OK on Aug. 7, 1953, to James (Tiny) and Mary (Price) Day. He attended Sulphur Schools and was very active in football and wrestling at Sulphur. Jim graduated in 1972 and went to Southeastern Oklahoma State Univ. where he played football that year. In Feb. 1973 he joined the Air Force and later stationed at Cheyenne, WY before going to Zweibrucken AFB in Germany. While there he married Carleena Day of Wynnewood, Sept. 19, 1975. They lived in Klienstinehausen, Germany until the end of 1975 then was stationed at Aviano, Italy most of 1976. From there, Jim spent 1977 in Iceland, where Carleena joined him for the summer. In 1978, they both went to Altus AFB where their daughter, Jaime was born. Jim got out of the service and returned in August to play football while attending at Southeastern at Durant. Jim and Carleena graduated in 1981. Jim became a oil field fluids engineer for Milchem, Inc. and serviced western Oklahoma and panhandle Texas until in 1986. In 1986 he became a football coach at Marietta, Oklahoma and was one of the coaches for the 1987 State Championship Team. Jim and Carleena taught at Hugo, OK, from 1988 to 1990. In 1990 they moved west of Wynnewood, where he taught and coached at Pauls Valley and Carleena taught at Elmore City. Jim retired from teaching in 2000 and he continued being a farmer. In 2005, they moved to Sulphur and in 2008, Carleena began teaching at the Sulphur Middle School.
He is preceded in death by parents James (Tiny) & Mary Day, in-laws Wayne & Nora Welty, nieces Elizabeth Kathryn Day & Kelli Radkiewicz and brother-in-law, Raymond Welty. Jim is survived by his wife, Carleena, and daughter’s family, Jaime Day, Alvaro (JR.) Corpus, Dayne Bradley, Laynie Bradley, and Dayton Day (Sulphur). Also surviving are the following family: Sister & husband-Judy &Bill Ayers (Sulphur) & Niece- Heather McMurrain & children; Jakob & Makenzie Steury, Alexia & Wyatt Gavin McMurrain (Davis), Brother & wife-Tony & Donna Day & niece-Mary E. Day (Frisco, TX), Brother & wife-Brian & JoAnn Day & nephew-Correbin (Sulphur); Niece & husband-Brookelyn & Ashton Rycroft (Sulphur); Niece & husband-Madiecyn & Jayme Janda and son Brantlyn (Aviano, Italy); Brother-in-law-Billy Ray Tate-(Sulphur); nephews-Nelson Radkiewicz, Ricky Radkiewicz & Billy Lee Tate (TX); Brother-in-law& wife-Robert & Cheri Welty (TX); brother-in-law-Gerald (Butch) Welty & Gaylynn (Wynnewood) ; niece & husband-Sarah & Len Keenan and children Jaysen & Lilly (Davis); nephew & wife-Scott & Cassidy Welty and daughter Landri (Dalhart). Jim & Carleena’s Bonus daughter’s family-Tiffany &Jeremy Traylor and children Karli, Jayden. Ryla, and Wyatt (Sulphur) Other Nieces & Nephews living out of state including Connie, Jonathan, Josh, Toni, Beau, Kora, Kali, Bentley, Kamdyn, Rebecca, Rachel & Haley. Many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Dayne Bradley, Alvaro "Junior" Corpus, Justin Ramer, Jerry Ramer, Don Brown, Carl Stephens, Bobby Joe Hill, T. J. Riley, Jimmy Phillips, and Chalo Reys.
