Donald K. Gordon, 87, of Tiffin, passed away due to complication of COVID-19, on Friday afternoon, December 4, 2020, at Mercy Health -Tiffin Hospital.

He was born November 7, 1933, in Alexander City, AL., to James Travis and Velma (McKelvy) Gordon. He married Thelma Mellott, May 24, 1956 in Alexander, AL., and she preceded him death on May 28, 2017.

Survivors include his daughter, Felicia (Butch) Tatroe of Elwood, Il.; and granddaughter, Stephanie Weiser of Elwood, Il.

He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, Travis Lynn Gordon; and half-sister, Cheryl Gordon.

Donald served in the United States Air Force for 22 years from Nov. 10, 1950 -July 31, 1972 and retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, and in April 1966, he showed courage, heroism, and humanitarian in Southeast Asia by disarming two fully armed bombs that was accidentally drop by a village and was awarded The Airman’s Medal. He worked for 10 years with Mercy Hospital as maintenance and graduated from Terra Community State College with three degrees. He enjoyed wood carving, stain glass work and donated the remaining of his glass work to Allen Eiry and loved his dog, Muffy.

There will be a graveside service at later date in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort

There will be no visitation.
