She was born March 31, 1933, in Adair County, to the late Joseph Alexander and Lela Giles Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. “ Sonny” Vaughn, Jr., a daughter, Lisa Turner Brown, three brothers & three sisters. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and retired from Fruit of the Loom.
Survivors include:
Two daughters –– Judy and her husband Louis Roy, Vicki and her husband Scott Wilson all of Russell Springs
Son-in-law – Mike Brown of Kingwood, Texas
Step-son – Johnny Vaughn of Columbia
Six grandchildren – Beth Rash of Tennessee, Neil Rooks of Columbia, Laura Flatt of Columbia, Allison Coffey of Tennessee, Bryce & Josh Brown both of Texas
Eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
In accordance with the Governor’s Mandate, all services will be private with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery
