Mr. Gus Newton of Romney, Indiana died of spinal meningitis early Wednesday, February 16, 1944 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

He was 62 years old and was born in Meade County, Kentucky. He was united in marriage on February 10, 1909 to Eula Prather. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mariette Newton and Mrs. Anna Anderson; two brothers, Richard and Irvin Newton; six sisters, Izzie Bradley, Vera Smith, Susie Miller, Lizzie Jantzen, Bessie Cundiff and Mandy Bradley.
