Clarence Loftin

Clarence "Doc" Loftin, 69, of Vaiden, died Thursday, December 24, 1998, at Tyler Holmes Hospital in Winona of heart failure.

Born February 2, 1929 in Attala County he was the son of J.T. Loftin and Mrs. Fannie Flynt. A veteran of WWII, he was a retired offshore mechanic. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Nowell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Warren officiating. Burial was in the Winona Garden of Memory.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Loftin of Vaiden; two sons, Kim Loftin of Kosciusko and Kenny Loftin of Vaiden; four daughters, Rita Bouchillon of Vaiden, Reba Summers of Kosciusko, Ruth Burrell of Sallis and Kathy Permenter of Starkville; two brothers, Jack Loftin of Jackson and Ed Loftin of Pontotoc; four sisters, Lois Hearon of Ethel, Goldie Ables of Lexington, Mildred Barnett of Carthage and Hazel Miller of Kosciusko; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Nowell Funeral Home of Kosciusko was in charge of arrangements.
