Virginia Ellen Lacy, born February 10, 1933 passed away at 4:15 pm Tuesday December 8, 2020 at Munson Hospital in Traverse City, MI.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Dorthy and Alonzo “Pete” Marshall, brothers Virgil Marshall of Scottsdale, AZ, Frank Marshall and Donald Marshall and Harold”Bill” Marshall of Bellaire, MI as well as her ex-husband Leo Bruce Lacy. She is survived by sisters Phyllis Johnston of Edgewater FL and Linda Steighner(Eddie) of Oak Hill, FL, her children Allen Lacy (Brenda) from Bear Lake Township in Kalkaska, MI, Timothy from Rapid City, MI, Tamara Lacy, Steven Lacy (Jan Clark), Richard Lacy (Beth) all of Bellaire, MI and Leo Bruce Lacy Jr (Becca) of West DesMoines, IA, 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

The dash that was Virginia’s life was filled with love and hard work. Raising her children as well as maintaining a variety of jobs over the years from dental assistant, secretary, housekeeping, running an ambulance business, weight watchers representative, church secretary/treasurer, singing in the choir, laundry worker and longest and most recent job as dietary aide at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility. Which had become her home recently. Never meeting a stranger that didn’t become a friend almost instantly or being taken in as part of her family. Virginia’s life exhibited her love for God in every aspect of the word. Always ready to serve wherever she could. Some know her as the cake lady, because of all the wonderful cakes she made for any and all occasion, big or small.

Funeral services will take place Friday, December 11, at 12:00 noon, at the Wesleyan Church in Bellaire. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
