A graveside service for Norma, 98, of Avon will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 14, 2020 at Aikman Creek Chapel Cemetery, located south of Washington, Indiana. The family has asked that the wearing of masks and social distancing be observed. Norma passed away early Wednesday morning at Countryside Meadows in Avon.
Norma was born in Washington, Indiana to the late Ivy Job and Lucretia (Carnahan) Gilley. She graduated from Glendale High School in Washington, IN. Norma was a dedicated and wonderful homemaker, enjoying her family and the love of gardening. She may be the oldest remaining member of the Aikman Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki (Dick) Dietz of Clayton, IN., J. Darlene (Scott) Urban of Brooklyn, IN., daughter-in-law, Margie Birch of Avon, 10 grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her two sons, James and Toby Birch.
