A funeral service for James Calvin 'Sydney' Posey, known by his friends as Rowdy, will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. A burial will follow the service at Dogwood Trail Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Sydney passed away on December 6, 2020 at the age of 19.
He is survived by his parents, James and Donna Posey; siblings, Cassandra Key, Jason Key, Brianna Posey; nieces and nephews, Brandon Crawford, Stormie Key, Jason Allen Key, Amber Key, Christin Key; 4 great nieces; special aunts and uncle, Belle Watts, Julie Murray, Monroe and Denise Perry, Winford and Patty Champion, and a host of close friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sidney and Eunice Champion, Betty and Buck Posey, and his uncle, Mike Watts.
Sydney loved cars. He enjoyed working on cars, going and participating in car meets and being active in several local car clubs. He enjoyed riding skateboards and bicycles.
All of his friends and family knew him by his smile, and his mismatch socks.
Sydney never met a stranger and never looked down on anyone. He was not one to judge and could put a smile on anyone's face he encountered.
