Belva Ethel Carter (Chew) was born March 26, 1936 Oklahoma City, OK. Belva entered into rest December 7, 2020 at Havenwood Care Center Bemidji, MN from failing health complicated by COVID19. Belva married Guy Lewis Carter Sr., September 18, 1961 in Denver, CO where they lived until 1976 when the family made Minnesota their permanent home.

Belva was a caregiver to many working for North Country Home Care & Hospice until Guy’s health began to fail. Shen then became a full-time caregiver until his death in 2007. She loved the outdoors, baking and Oklahoma Sooner Football.

Belva is proceeded in death by her husband Guy, sisters Evelyn Girty and Grace Janson.

Belva is survived by daughter Jeri (John) Seegmiller, son Guy (Debbie) Carter Jr. Grandchildren Jason (Heather) Seegmiller, Jeremy Seegmiller, Jenna (Casey) LaVallee and Austin Carter. Great grandchildren Clayton Seegmiller, baby LaVallee due June 2021, Blaise Carter and Rocky Carter. Sisters Linda (Mel) Link of Cherokee, OK and twin Melva (Phil) Phillips of Alva, OK as well as several nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private family services will be held at a later date. Care is entrusted to Olson Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji. Memorials to Sanford Home Care and Hospice, Bemidji.
