Norma Jean Henderson, 83, of Richmond, died at 7:09 P.M. Sunday, December 12, 2020 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Norma Jean Henderson was born on April 27, 1937 in Lafayette County to William H. and Alma E. (Little) Henderson. Norma Jean graduated from Lexington High School in 1955. A few years later she attended cosmetology school. She worked in the hair solon at J.C. Penney’s at the Blue Ridge Mall, then in 1978 moved to Richmond and opened her own beauty shop.

Norma Jean enjoyed family and friends. She loved taking care of little ones and spoiling them and all of us. Norma Jean loved reading, puzzles, painting, cooking, and baking.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Doris Henderson; 4 nieces, Debbie (Brewer) and Ned Beissenherz, Gail (Brewer) and Larry Engle, Terri (Brewer) and Mark Proffit, and Karen (Zeller) Goodloe;1 nephew Doug Zeller; several great nieces & nephews and several great-great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents ,2 brothers, Cleo H. Henderson, Billie Henderson (in infancy), 3 sisters, Mary Francis Zeller, Eva “Marie” Brewer and Wilma Lee Henderson, and 2 great nephews, Jeff Beissenherz and Jeremy Proffit.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Shirkey Hospice. They can be dropped off or mail to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main – P. O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Inurnment will be in Lexington Memorial Gardens. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
