Fort Bend Herald, December 10, 2020:

Melinda Compean Aguilar, 70, was born on September 14, 1950 in Edinburg, Texas and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2020 in Sugar Land, Texas. Melinda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she had a big heart and touched everyone’s life with her sense of humor. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life's challenges as a real trooper. Despite the illnesses, she came out a hero and stayed strong until the end with her saying “Don’t worry about me, I’m going to be okay.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores Compean, Sr. and Maria Rivera Compean; beloved husband, Alberto Aguilar, Sr.; son, Oscar C. Aguilar; siblings, Elida De La O, Estella Manrique, Elva Reyna, Margarita Compean, and Dolores Compean, Jr.

Melinda leaves behind to cherish and treasure her memories her sons, Albert Aguilar, Jr. and wife, Debbie, and Steven Aguilar and wife, Lydia; her daughters, Melissa Ann Aguilar, and Nellie Aguilar Garcia and husband, Rick; her siblings, Vera Medina, Frank Compean, Maria Elena Becerra, Emily “Mimi” Martinez, and Vangie Compean; her grandchildren, Kristen Aguilar, Marissa Aguilar, Justin Moreno, Jason Moreno, Brendan Aguilar, and Jacob Aguilar; she also leaves behind many other relatives and numerous friends. Melinda will be dearly missed by all those who were touched by her beautiful soul.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to her physicians, Josier M. Nisnisan, MD, Ramon C. Ty Jr., MD, and Rupert Patel, MD for their care and compassion.

Visitation: Monday, December 14, 2020, 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Rosary and Vigil Service: 7:00 pm. Location: Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel (2102 Broadway Blvd., Houston, TX 77012). Celebration of Mass: Tuesday, December 15, 2020, 10:00 am. Location: Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1600 Avenue D, Rosenberg, TX 77471). Interment: Davis Greenlawn Cemetery (3900 B. F. Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, TX 77471)
