Peacefully, holding hands with her daughter in Almonte General Hospital on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Elsie Steele (nee: Barker) of Almonte, age 98 years. Dearly loved wife of the late James H. "Jim" Steele and best friend and mother to John (Ruth) of Almonte, Gerald (Bev) of Coquitlam, B.C. and Jessie Henderson of Ottawa. Predeceased by her brother Melville and sister Thelma. Also survived by 2 grandchildren; Rob Steele (Susan) & Lisa Odlozinski (Mike) and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 127 Church Street, Almonte. For visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from 1 pm Thursday until time of Service complete in the Chapel at 2 pm. Rev. Heather Kinkaid, officiating.
