Nancy was born in May of 1931 in Haywood County to the late Aldie Rhodarmer and the late Fannie Justice Rhodarmer. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Ethel Clontz Rhodarmer.
Nancy attended Leicester High School where she made many friends, and resided most of her life in Canton. Mrs. Broyles was employed with Belk Hudson’s in Canton where she greeted every customer with her friendly smile always made everyone feel welcome to the store. Her commitment to the community through Belk Hudson’s spanned for 41 dedicated years until her retirement. Mrs. Broyles was a faithful and beloved member of High Street Baptist Church where she had held a variety of roles and positions that served her church family over the years. Nancy’s loving spirit will remain with each of us forever.
In addition to her parents, and step-mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Broyles; and brothers, Bruce, Carroll, Harold, Troy, David, and Ricky Rhodarmer.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Charles Rhodarmer of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Ronnie (Nancy) of Candler, Donnie of Marshall, and Calvin (Rose) of Marshall; sisters, Evelyn Cornwell (Pete) of Mills River, Elaine Edwards who had resided with Nancy and cared for her each and every day, and Glenna Worley of Clyde; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service to honor and remember the life of Nancy Broyles will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road in Canton. Pastor Chris Willett will be officiating, and a prayer will be offered by Nancy’s special friend, Colby Roper. The family respectfully requests that face masks be worn by those in attendance. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Warner, Josh Willett, Michael and Richard Rhodarmer, Larry Caldwell, and Doug Edwards.
