Carolyn Rose Pugh, 74, of Hardin, died unexpectedly on Tuesday December 8, 2020 at her home.

Carolyn was born on November 10, 1946 in Gettysburg, SD, the daughter of Vernon Wayne and Wilma Louise (Ellis) Oyler. She was united in marriage to Kenneth “Wayne” Pugh of Stet on June 7, 1968; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: son, Kevin Wayne (April) Pugh of Hardin; daughter, Kyla Jean Pugh of Higginsville; three grandsons, Korbin Wayne Pugh, Kameron Walker Pugh and Kolt Dilyn Pugh; three brothers, Donald Wayne (Sandy) Oyler of Braymer, David Lee (Sheila) Oyler of Hardin, James Michael (Ella) Oyler of Lee’s Summit; 3 sisters Jeanne Anne (Steve) Pulliam of Richmond, Janet Louise (Kenny) McNelly of Hardin, Catherine Joan (Ronald) Sadler of Liberty; sister in law, Faye Pugh of Richmond and also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Richard Alan “Rick” Oyler and brother in law Sam Pugh.

Carolyn came from South Dakota to the Stet area as a senior in high school and graduated from the Stet High School in 1964. After high school she attended, CMSU in Warrensburg. After receiving her teaching degree, she taught first in Higginsville and Richmond. Carolyn spent most of her career as a teacher teaching kindergarten, first grade and special education for the Hardin Central School District. She retired in 2005 from teaching. After retirement she took care of her grandsons fulltime. Carolyn also volunteered reading to children at school. Carolyn was a member of the Hardin First Baptist Church. Her hobbies and interest included spending time with her family at Lake of the Ozarks, reading, puzzles, baking and canning. She especially loved the Holidays and spoiling her grandsons. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends
