Mrs. Nancy Dorene Long, 67, of Seale, AL passed Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Seale, AL. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, Friday, December 4, 2020 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Roderick Baptiste, officiating. Visitation is Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 2-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.

Mrs. Long was born June 19, 1953 in Cusseta, GA to the late Frank Williams and the late Evelyn Scott Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Evelyn Williams; sister, Lavada Jones; brother, Ted Williams; son, Thomas Long.

She was a woman of many gifts and talents. She was a caring nursing assistant/care giver, gifted hair stylist, experienced clanswoman (exhibiting extraordinary skill in hair and plant growth, worked well with children as a day care worker, devoted wife, loving mother and nurturing grandmother. She was also a remarkable cook who loved preparing delicious meals for family and friends and given to hospitality. In addition to raising her own children, Nancy never refused her home to anyone. Upon the passing of her eldest sister, she became a mother to her sister's daughter and grandson, Kesha and Shawn Jones.

She was a graduate of Central High School, Phenix City, AL. Due to her faith Mrs. Long was no stranger to the church. She fellowshipped with Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Christian Life Church and was a faithful long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Seale, AL serving as a Deaconess alongside her husband, Deacon Willie Long.

She also impacted new churches like World-Wide Gospel Ministries serving as an usher and choir member. Sis. Long was a founding member of Foundations of Faith Missions International where she received her Christian worker's credentials. She was head of the hospitality department, head usher, head food preparation, pastor's aide, and esteemed Church Mother. It is always said that when it comes to service "Mother Long is the Best". She instilled this gift of service in her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Nancy Long was quiet but notable and will be remembered for her keen fashion sense. She always encouraged others to be better through her love, generosity and humor. She will be truly missed by all who knew her grace and joy and her instructions to those who follow, "You cannot come behind me looking any kind of way."

Survivors include her husband, Willie Long; three daughters, Latashia Long, Stephanie (Marvin) Woods and Felicia Long; seven brothers, Samuel Williams, Edwin Williams (Mihelle), Michael Williams (Regina), Melvin Flint, Frank Williams, Jr. (Michelle), Tony Williams and Terry Williams; three sisters, Vanessa Brooks (Bobby), Sonja Williams-Kindred, Ethalyn Long; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
