Lynda Taylor, a longtime resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully at Patterson Healthcare Center on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 surrounded by her family after a battle with cancer at the age of 70.

She was born on March 27, 1949 in Laurel, Mississippi the daughter of Rupert E. Taylor and Doris B. Taylor (Shannon), who preceded her in death.

Lynda was a special person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She took great pride in teaching the Bible to others in adult Sunday school class at Bayou Vista Baptist Church.

Lynda is survived by her two children, Kevin Duplantis and wife Pam of Bayou Vista and Lynda Ann Mula of Bayou Vista; her brothers, Mike Taylor of Berwick and Keith Taylor of Morgan City; her step father, M.D. “Dick” Shannon of Morgan City; seven grandchildren, Thomas Duplantis, Tyler Duplantis, Ryan Duplantis, Jacob Duplantis, Taylor Mula, Steve Boudreaux, Jewel Mula; two great grandchildren; special aunt, Ann Eastburn and her husband Jim along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Patterson Healthcare Center and Heart of Hospice, who helped care for her in her final days with great compassion. The family would also like to thank Bayou Vista Baptist Church and all of the people that have helped Lynda’s family in any way during this time.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Twin City Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Kelly and Rev. Charles Gilder officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the family c/o Twin City Funeral Home.
