Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 8,2003 at Bethel Baptist Church for Charles E. Bussey of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Bussey, 71, died Thursday, May 1, 2003 in Amarillo, Texas.

Rev. Thomas Ford officiated at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.

Mr. Bussey was born December 19, 1931 in Timpson, Texas; the son of Arthur Bussey and Octavia Garrett Bussey. He came from there to Artesia in 1954.

On May 5, 1968 he was married to Rosie Ingram in Carlsbad, N.M. She preceded him in death September 22, 2002.

He was a laborer and a cotton compress night security Guard for SWIG and member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters Louise Blackburne of Amarillo, Texas and Shammy Ingram of Artesia; a son Charles J. Bussey of Houston, Texas; a sister Marie Kellum of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
