ANGELA DUNN BARKER, age 66, of 1915 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday night, December 6, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Barker was born January 16, 1954 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Lewis Reginald Dunn & Eleanor Hamlin Dunn and was wife of 36 years to William Henry “Hank” Barker, II who survives. She was a graduate of Garner Webb College with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Religion. Upon retirement from the Person County School System, Angela retired from Bethel Hill Charter School for a total of 36 years teaching. She was pianist and organist for Providence Baptist Church and prior to her illness at Roxboro Baptist Church where she was a member with a strong faith in God and was a faithful Christian.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, Reginald Dunn, aunt, Joy Mangum, mother-in-law, Lela Barker, sister-in-law, Deborah Barker, brother-in-law, Tracey Barker and wife, Julie, and two nieces, Morgan Barker, and Blakley Barker.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dupre Sanders, the Rev. Keith Dixon, and the Rev. Ronn McCracken officiating. Those wishing to pay respects may do so Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home or at the home of Reginald Dunn, 737 Thaxton Road, Roxboro, NC.
Pallbearers will be Tracey Barker, Troy Bradsher, Doug Dickerson, Jacob Dixon, Jeremy Dixon, Malcom Mangum, Will Paul, and Steve Tingen.
