Ann Lucyle (Margaret) Chaddick, 91, of Van Alstyne was born on April 11, 1927 in Sherman, Texas and passed away on February 15, 2019 in McKinney after a long illness. She was the daughter of Alyne and Frank Hanna and a 1944 graduate of Whitewright High School. In August, 1948, she received a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Texas Christian University. Margaret's main focus was always her family. She served as room mother for her daughters' classes, and her home was always filled with their friends. She taught piano lessons in her home and later taught Language Arts at Van Alstyne Elementary School. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne where she was the organist for many years.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Sarah Thorn (Craig), Cathy Stroud (Steve), Barby Johnson, Jennifer Gorman (Cary), and Marnie Norris. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew Thorn, Kara Thorn Bowers, Katie Stroud Jennings, Natalie Johnson Worley, Chelsea Gorman, Amber Norris Wilson, Lucas Norris, and Holly Norris; nieces, Tohnie Hynds and Kay Stuart; nephew, Bill Benton; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, John Hynds; her husband, Tommy Chaddick; and grandson, Bradley Johnson.
The family will be at Scoggins Funeral Home, Van Alstyne, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 17, for anyone wishing to pay respects and say good bye.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Monday, February 18, at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church of Van Alstyne. Burial will be held privately, for family members only.
