Doris “Dot” Wrenn Ward, 87, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Maxie Eugene Wrenn and Cora Ollie Atkins Wrenn, and was the wife to the late David Dewberry Ward, Jr. who died in 1985.

Dot formerly worked at Liberty Hosiery in Gibsonville and retired from Monarch Hosiery in Ossipee. She was a longtime member of Glen Raven Baptist Church, where she was active in the Adult Sunday school class, enjoyed working in the nursery and was a former Awana teacher. Dot was an avid reader, loved cooking for her family and always had a vegetable garden. She was known and loved by many as “Grandma Dot”.

She is survived by her children, Janet Roberts, Pamela (Randy) Faircloth, and David Ward; step daughters, Linda Rainey and Gaynelle Harville; grandchildren, Susan (Chris) Evans, Steven (Kristi) Roberts, Tanya (Tim) Allen, Matthew (Arica) Ward; great grandchildren, Morgan Faircloth, Katie Roberts and Jackson Roberts; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Annette) Wrenn; special brother-in-law, Ronald Hardy; and several nieces and nephews.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a granddaughter, Jennifer Faircloth; sisters, Irma Cozart, Norma “Toots” Price, Daisy Eury, Sylvia Smith and Lynette “Tooter” Hardy; brothers, Jack, Hubert, Harry, Roy, Iven and James “Jimmy” Wrenn.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bobby Fann and Rev. Steven Roberts with the burial to follow at Altamahaw Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be available to view live on the funeral home website. Dot will be available for viewing on Tuesday from 12pm to 5pm and Wednesday from 8am to 1:45pm prior to the service. The family will be receiving friends at the residence.
