Mrs. Ellen Ball, one of Sunbury's oldest citizens, died in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A, L. Kinn, 137 Bainbridge street, Wednesday at 5:15 p. m., after having been ill since Sunday with complications. She was 84 years of age.
She was born at Hughesville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Houseknecht, and spent her youth there. She was a resident of Sunbury for the past 45 years. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Grace Hathaway, of Philadelphia; Herman Ball, of Snow Shoe, and Otis Ball, of Sunbury; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; four, sisters, Mrs. Maggie Smith, Mrs. Mabel Hill and Mrs. Emma Snell, of Newberry; Mrs. Daisy Boyer, Hughesville, and one brother, Monroe Houseknecht, Hughesville.
Funeral services will be held from the Dornsife Funeral Home Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. L. W. Chappell, of Pilgrim Holiness Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, near Danville. Remains may be viewed at the funeral home Friday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock.
