CORTLAND — David "Wayne" Krause, 83, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 30, 2020, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.

Wayne was born the only son of the late Clarence E. and Glenna Cook Krause in Vanderbilt, Pa., Sept. 20, 1937.

On Oct. 3, 1959, Wayne married the former Nancy Lee Smith at Paradise E.U.B Church in Mount Pleasant, Pa. They shared 61 years of marriage this year.

Wayne was employed as a certified welder for Standard Transformer, Taylor-Winfield and Glunt Industries. Wayne retired from Maplewood School District in 2015 as a custodian.

Wayne enjoyed the simple things in life, especially his home, deer hunting, mowing grass, riding his tractor, tinkering around in his garage, going to flea markets, yard sales and auctions, and relaxing on the front porch with his dog, Angel. He made many trips home to Pennsylvania to enjoy family time.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his loving daughter, Brenda L. Sidoti and her husband Joseph M.; and only grandson, Joseph A., all of whom he loved dearly. Wayne is also survived by a sister, Georgia J. Sterbutzel; sisters-in-law Ruth Ann Tomanek, Judy K. Trout and husband Melvin, and Karen D. Sholtis and husband the Rev. Mark Sholtis, all of Pennsylvania; and several loving nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Illig and Sara Pope; and three brothers-in-law, James Sterbutzel, Clyde Pope and Joseph Tomanek.

A celebration of life service and committal was performed by his brother-in-law, the Rev. Mark A. Sholtis and his sister-in-law, Pastor Karen D. Sholtis, at Johnston Township Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020.

Special thanks to the staff of Ohio Living Lake Vista for their loving care of our loved one, David Wayne. Their compassionate care will always be remembered by his family.

"Love, like a beautiful song, echoes on in the heart when the last note is silent."

"Dad, we love you and you will be forever missed. Rest in peace."
