Frances Rose Hayes Hudson passed away at the age of 99 on December 5, 2020 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on October 31, 1921 in Wellston, Oklahoma. At four years of age the family moved to McLoud, OK where she grew up. Frances married Lt. Paul A. Hudson on December 3, 1942 in Oklahoma City. They were members of the Greatest Generation! They raised two daughters in Oklahoma City and were active in Northwest Baptist Church for many years where Frances was church secretary before moving to Stigler, Oklahoma in 1967. They lived in Stigler for 25 years where they were members of Main Street Baptist Church. Paul was minister of music and Frances was nursery coordinator. She had a Nursing Home ministry for many years where she served as coordinator and taught Sunday school. They were married for three months short of 50 years when Paul left his earthly home after a long battle with cancer in 1992. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1994 to live near family. Frances spent her three final years living at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, OK where she was loved and blessed by too many people to mention.

Frances is survived by her children Paula Hudson Hinshaw (Don Hinshaw) and Suzanne Hudson Pipkin (the late Jack L. Pipkin), grandchildren Phillip Harrison Sanger, Julie Elizabeth Pipkin Gibbs (Russell S. Gibbs), Amanda Cathryn Pipkin Anderson (Keith A. Anderson), and Jill Suzanne Pipkin; great grandchildren Carlin Elizabeth Gibbs, Jennifer Gibbs Kunz (Jordan Kunz), and Angie Gibbs Ellis (Clark Ellis), great great grandchildren Jackson James Brisco, Ella Grace Brisco, Mia Avery Anderson, and Vivian Drew Anderson, and nephew, James Hayes Johnson (Lydia Moland). She was predeceased by her grandson Paul David Sanger.

Frances had a lovely soprano voice and sang in the church choir. Nana had many hobbies including sewing and cooking for everyone, gardening, and giving away produce. She read the Bible through many, many times. She was passionate about her morning devotion and before getting very sick, she would not miss her scripture reading. She loved reading novels, especially Zane Grey, and watching westerns. Frances was a Christian mother who blessed us and started us on the right path to follow Jesus. We praise God for her. “We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loves us… Nothing can separate us from the Love of God” (Romans 8:37). We will miss her every day.

Memorial gifts may be made to Main Street Baptist Church, 401 E. Main St., Stigler, Oklahoma 74462.

Viewing will be held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 8 and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9.
