John Anthony Hines, age 76, of Cicero, IN passed away October 17, 2020 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born March 6, 1944 at New Castle, IN to Paul Earl and Freda Louise (Whitlow) Hines.

His early schooling was obtained at Indiana Academy at Cicero, IN. John later furthered his education at Indiana University. He then honorably served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp.

John was an electrician and used his skills at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis where he worked for 53 years. Leisure time would find him adding to his train collection, fishing in Lake Michigan and woodworking that included making cabinets.

He was a member of Cicero Seven Day Adventist Church.

He married Phyllis Hines on August 22, 1975. She preceded him in death January 20, 1986. In addition to his wife, his parents also preceded him in death.

Surviving him is a son: Markam Anthony Hines of Arlington, TX, daughters: Shannon Adams of Bartow, FL, Cara Price of Belton, MO, and Any Staton of Fishers, IN, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2020 at Cicero Seventh Day Adventist Church, Cicero, IN with Pastor Aaron Clark officiating.

Burial will occur at Cicero Cemetery.
