John Phillip Vogel, 48, of Stewartsville, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

He was born in Somerville, NJ on Oct. 26, 1972 and grew up in Tewksbury Township, NJ. John was the son of the late Dr. Jerome Vogel and Dolores Vogel. After graduating from Phillipsburg Catholic High School he went on to graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University and then became the Editor-In-Chief of a travel & leisure magazine, and Ravenhaus Publishing. John was a talented author of many books and articles.

John was a lot like his father in so many ways. He was educated and intelligent in a multitude of areas; he could discuss and debate any topic with anyone. He was generous to a fault, and could always bring a smile with a song, joke, or riddle. John had a taste for the finer things, but also enjoyed a good cheeseburger. His love of animals was only surpassed by his love for his family. Many times he treated his family to the time of their lives, including trips to his favorite place on Earth, Disney. His biggest thrill wasn't from the rides, but in seeing the joy on their faces. John was a very talented musician, favoring the guitar. When he wasn't listening to, or playing music, he could often be found reading.

John spent most of his time this past year caring for his mother, which he did tirelessly. John was a beloved husband, provider, uncle to many nieces and nephews, a devoted son, and a great brother. He leaves behind his loving wife, Karrie of 25 years, his mother, Dolores; sisters, Lori of Glen Gardner, Carolynn of Stewartsville, Cheryl and brother-in-law Steve of Long Valley and Victoria of New City, NY; brothers: Jeffrey and sister-in-law Carol of Stewartsville and William of Stewartsville. John joins his father and his brother Jerome Vogel Jr., whom he cared for greatly, in eternal rest.

Visitors will be received at Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street, Califon, NJ 07830 on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following visitation at Fairmount Rural Cemetery in Tewksbury Township, NJ.
