She attended Maccachaque Elementary School and Rosedale Junior High and High School in Kansas City, KS and Kansas City University.
She married her husband, Earle D. Jones in 1953 and they had 2 daughters, Vanessa Marie and Sharon Lynn.
She inherited her mother’s talent for sewing and hand crafts. She worked for her mother in her mother’s interior decorating business, then followed her father’s talent for bookkeeping by keeping books for her husband’s law business. After her husband, Earle, became a judge she went to work for an accounting and income tax firm. She learned to do income taxes and worked commercially doing taxes from 1971 to 1990. She also worked as a volunteer for AARP’s Tax Counseling for the Elderly for 15 years.
She and Vanessa had a avid interest in family genealogy and between them compiled 3 books. She was proud of her Swedish and Danish heritage.
She was a charter member of Atonement Lutheran Church and was chairman of Lydia Circle. She joined Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She was president of Overland Park Republican Women’s Club.
In 1968-69 she was proud that she learned to fly single engine airplanes and enjoyed being up in the sky. She also learned to drive a motorcycle. She loved traveling, camping, fishing and ocean cruising.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earle, and daughter, Sharon.
She leaves her daughter, Vanessa and husband Miles Graham; granddaughter, Angela and husband Joseph Henning, and great grandson Joseph Henning, Jr.; brother Richard Johnson and wife Shirley; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
