Mr. Bowman lived most of his life in Pleasantville, New Jersey, where he attended the public-school system and graduated from Pleasantville High School where he was a stand-out football player. He studied computer systems and coding as a young man and held various positions in retail and sales. After retirement, he worked as a crossing guard in Pleasantville, New Jersey. He was married for a brief time to Melvina Bowman of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Rose Mary and Isaac Bowman, Sr.; children, Michael Mack, Robert and Kenneth Emerson; brother, Isaac Bowman, Jr.; step-sister, Ava Saunders.
David is survived by: his children, Joanne Bowman (Mark Rupinski), Davida Bowman-Kinnard, Gwendolyn Emerson (Carmello), Frances Haque (Anthony Aikens), Davinee Fundenberg, David Fundenberg, Angela Bowman, Shavonne Fields, Guy, Kirk and Kim Emerson; step brother, Herman Bowman; grandchildren, Morgan, Rashad, Khamil, Alexxus, Nasir, Khalidah, Gary, Shavonna, Christopher, Giovanni, Jamal, Brittany, Kirk Jr., Tyree, Tanisha and Tanissa; numerous great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
David's family was important to him and he was well-known throughout the community, and he loved the Lord. He enjoyed music, dancing, special occasions with family and friends.
Aside from his children, he leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, and friends. He will be missed by all.
A visitation will be 10AM to 11AM Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Greenidge Funeral Homes, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Funeral Services are private. Interemnt will be in the Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, New Jersey.
