Egyptian Queen
She was the wife of Pharaoh Sneferu (First Pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty) and the mother of Khufu (builder of the Great Pyramid at Giza). Hetepheres was also the grandmother of Djedefre and Khafre.
Hetepheres's tomb is known as G7000X in the Giza Pyramid Complex and was uncovered in 1925. The sarcophagus located inside the tomb was opened in 1927 and found to be empty, leading to several theories as to how many gravesites Hetepheres may have had during Antiquity and what might have happened to her body. The numerous artifacts uncovered in the tomb were split between museums in Cairo and Boston, Massachusetts.
