Joe Lewis Wise, 66, of 2506 Bennie Dr., Ringgold, VA, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his residence.
Born January 25, 1954 in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late James Henry Wise and Essie Mae Walker Wise. He was married to Phyllis Towler Wise, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis Towler Wise of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Alexis JoAnne Towler of Ringgold, VA; two sons, Carlos Miller of Richmond, VA and Christopher Terry of AL; one step-son, Niki Joseph Towler of Danville, VA; three sisters, Inez Anderson, Yvonne Crews (Silas) and Rosa Mae Henry (Jessie) all of Danville, VA; five brothers, John Wise of Pittsburg, PA, Roy Wise and Keith Wise (Patricia) both of Ringgold, VA, Alvin Wise of Chatham, VA and Moses Wise of Martinsville, VA; a devoted niece, Lisa Chaney of Danville, VA and a host of other relatives and friends. In additions to his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Rosa Chaney, Robert Wise and Willie Wise.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1 PM from Highland Burial Park with Rev. Calvin White, Eulogist. Due to the constraints of public gathering viewing will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6-8 PM from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time, masks are required.
