Dennis L Kratzer 1951-2017
66 of Canton, passed away Tuesday August 29, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Born in Canton on July 19, 1951 a son of the late Stanley Leverne and Norma Louise (Weik) Kratzer, also preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Kratzer, died June 26th, 2015; sister, Renee Griffith; two brothers, Gale Kratzer and Stanley Kratzer.
Employed in the maintenance department at Stark Metropolitan Housing for 35 years before retiring in 2013, was a graduate and lifelong fan of McKinley High School Bulldogs, a member of Canton VFW Post 3747.
Survived by step-son, Harry Slaton of Malvern; sister, Sharon Yarnell of Canton; also survived by 20 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, at 11 a.m. in the Waltner-SIMCHAK Funeral Home with Dennis's uncle, Wayne Kratzer officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 until time of services also in the funeral home. The family requests contributions to the ladies auxiliary VFW Post 3747.
