Florence M. Beede, 96 of Dixon died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at KSB Hospital.
Florence was born Oct. 2, 1906, in Whiteside County, the daughter of Jacob Louise and Elizabeth (Schettler) Hinrichs. She married Albert Allen Beede on April 20, 1929, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1978. Florence was a member of Grace United Methodies Church, Dixon, for many years. She also was a member of the Juanita Eastern Star in Compton for more than 50 years.
Survivors include one son, Robert Beede of Dixon; two grand children, Diana (Gary) Ludwig and Jerry (Jenny) VanRaden; three great-grand-children, Wesley Ludwig, Katie and Nathan VanRaden; and a son-in-law, Glenn Van Raden, all of Forreston.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; one daughter, Beverly VanRaden; one sister Minnie Miller; and one brother, Jack Hinrichs.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, IL, with the Rev. Seymour Halford, chaplain at Heritage Square, Dixon, and the Rev. Thomas Moe, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Dixon, co-officiating. Burial will be at Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
A memorial has been established to Grace United Methodist Church, Dixon.
