Thomas Edwin (“Ed”) Shelton, 91, of Great Falls, Virginia passed away on 4 December 2020. He is survived by his three daughters, Patricia (Julius) of Australia, Diane (John) of Lovettsville, and Susan (Mark) of Paeonian Springs; five grandchildren, Brian, Danielle, Kevin (Lauren), Theresa, and Deborah; and one brother, Gary, of Manchester, Tennessee. His childhood years were spent growing up in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. After serving in the Army at a young age, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he met his forever wife, Mary Elizabeth Coznick. Together they raised their family on a small farm in the little town of Great Falls, Virginia. He loved working on his farm, which included a variety of animals, especially his beloved chickens. He had a lifelong career in insurance before his retirement. Not too long after losing his wife, he spent his last years at the Meadow Glen Assisted Living Facility in Leesburg, Virginia. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, 8 December 2020 at Union Cemetery located at 323 North King Street, Leesburg, Virginia 20176.
