Mrs. Myrtle F. Wrede, 85, of Cloverdale, Ind., died Sunday,
Dec. 13, 1992; at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville, Ind.

A retired school teacher and minister, Mrs. Wrede was a native of Fairfield. A
sister, Eliza Lewis, lives here.

Funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Whitaker Funeral Home in
Cloverdale, Ind., with Rev. James Ranard and Rev. Floyd Oaley officiating.
Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home
will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Myrtle Wrede was born in Fairfield Jan. 16, 1907, the daughter of Henry King and
Margaret Taylor Turner.

She was married to Harvey Wrede who died in September this year. Mrs. Wrede was
a school teacher for 38 years and after retirement became a minister and a real
estate broker. She also did substitute teaching a number of years.

She was a graduate of three universities , receiving her master's degree from
DePauw.

Mrs. Wrede was a member of the Eminence, Ind., First Baptist Church and had
taught unday School for 60 years. She has served on the Cloverdale Housing board
since it started. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappi Pi Chapter.

Surviving are three sons, Harvey Ray, Jr., of Dover, Del.; Robert L. of
Monticello, Ind., and Roe of Cloverdale, Ind.; two sisters, Eliza Lewis of
Fairfield; and Martha Redcliffee of Cloverdale; 10 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.
